USAID and Partners to Train Kebbi Health Workers

In a significant partnership aimed at bolstering healthcare in Nigeria’s Kebbi State, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSCPSM) are gearing up to provide crucial training to healthcare personnel. This training will equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully implement a sustainable drug-revolving scheme within the state.

Mr. Dimda James, the Technical Director of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (RMNCH), made this announcement during a courtesy visit to the state’s Deputy Governor, Umar Abubakar, at his office in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

Accompanied by Commissioner of Health, Comrade Yunusa Musa, and Permanent Secretary Dr. Shehu Nuhu Koko, Mr. James expressed his team’s purpose in Kebbi State: to conduct a comprehensive two-week training program for the personnel who will be at the forefront of the drug-revolving initiative.

He expressed his gratitude for the proactive stance of the state government in establishing the Drug Management Agency. James was particularly delighted to acknowledge that Kebbi State has fulfilled all the necessary criteria to receive intervention and support from USAID-Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement and Supply Management.

In response, the State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafidan Kabi, affirmed the state government’s unwavering commitment to provide all essential support and facilities required for the triumph of the sustainable drug-revolving program.

This partnership between USAID and GHSCPSM holds great promise for improving healthcare access and drug management in Kebbi State. It underscores the collective dedication to enhancing the health and well-being of the state’s residents and demonstrates the value of collaborative efforts in the realm of public health.
