Wema Bank and Federal Government Collaborate to Empower 270,000 SMEs with Digital Skills in Innovative Program

Wema Bank, in conjunction with the Federal Government, has officially launched the FGN/ALAT Digital Skillnovation Programme, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria through virtual training. The program, inaugurated in September 2023, has already garnered immense interest from hundreds of thousands of business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, working professionals, and jobseekers, all eager to enhance their digital skills and fortify their business management capabilities.

Designed to address the evolving demands of the digital era, the FGN/ALAT Digital Skillnovation Programme has set an ambitious goal of training 2,000,000 Nigerian youth and 1,000,000 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. The curriculum encompasses a diverse range of digital skills such as software engineering, product management, business analysis, cloud computing, product design, and more.

Applicants participating in the program can expect a comprehensive learning experience that goes beyond virtual training. The initiative includes hands-on physical training sessions conducted at state-of-the-art digital hubs strategically located across the nation. This approach aims to provide participants with practical insights and skills applicable in real-world scenarios.

The virtual training for the first cohort of 270,000 participants has been officially launched, marking a significant milestone in the execution of this innovative initiative.
