What Minister Of Labour Told Us On Minimum Wage Review – TUC President

The Minister revealed that he had held extensive discussions with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, focusing primarily on the pressing issue of wage award.

According to Comrade Osifo, Minister Lalong emphasized that President Tinubu advocated for a meticulous review and refinement of all matters related to wage awards before any official pronouncements would be made. This underscores the government’s recognition of the urgency surrounding the concerns raised by the TUC, showcasing their commitment to finding an equitable solution.

Beyond the scope of minimum wage, the TUC engaged the federal government in discussions regarding the distribution of palliatives to states. Comrade Osifo emphasized their intention to oversee the distribution process with vigilance, ensuring the efficient and transparent implementation of the relief scheme. He also raised pertinent concerns related to taxation and the utilization of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
