YEIDEP Postpones N500,000 Grant Disbursement, Announces New Date for Disbursement

…Warns Applicants Against Fake News and Fraudsters

YEIDEP Coordinator Kennedy Iyere addressing Batch A applicants on grant postponement

The Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP) has officially postponed the disbursement of its N500,000 business support grant earlier scheduled for October 20, 2025.

In a new statement released by the Coordinator-General, Mr. Kennedy Iyere, the organization explained that the decision was made to ensure a transparent, accountable, and properly verified disbursement process for all Batch A applicants.

According to Mr. Iyere, the postponement became necessary to allow the verification team to complete due diligence on shortlisted applicants and to avoid errors that may affect the integrity of the process.

“We understand the expectations of many Nigerian youths waiting for their YEIDEP grant. However, we must prioritize transparency and fairness over speed. Every legitimate applicant will receive their benefit once the process is complete,” he said.

YEIDEP Warns Against Fake News and Online Scams

The coordinator also warned applicants and the general public to ignore fake news spreading across social media platforms, falsely claiming that disbursement has begun.

He stressed that several internet fraudsters are attempting to deceive unsuspecting individuals by demanding payment or posing as agents of YEIDEP.

“Every aspect of the YEIDEP programme is 100% free of charge. We will never ask any applicant to pay to receive the grant or participate in our programmes. Any such demand is a scam,” Iyere warned.

Applicants are advised to follow only YEIDEP’s verified communication channels — including its official website https://www.yeidep.org, YouTube, and Facebook pages — for credible updates and official announcements.

New Registration for Batch B Begins October 27, 2025

While announcing the postponement, Mr. Iyere confirmed that the registration portal will reopen on Monday, October 27, 2025, for new applicants under Batch B.

He reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to empowering young Nigerians through transparent and accessible economic intervention programmes.

“Our vision is to support millions of young Nigerians with financial empowerment, skills development, and business growth opportunities. Every verified applicant will get their due benefit in due course,” he added.
