YEIDEP: What to Write in the Batch B Message Box Simple Guide for Applicants

Since the launch of the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP) Batch B application, many Nigerians have been unsure what to write in the message box on the online form.

If you’ve also found yourself wondering what to type there, you’re not alone. The confusion stems from the fact that YEIDEP didn’t provide any clear instruction for that section. But that box is actually your opportunity to make your application stand out — if you know what to write.

Why the Message Box Exists

YEIDEP’s online form is built using a basic contact form, similar to what many websites use to collect inquiries. That’s why there’s a message box. While it may seem unimportant, it’s a great place to show initiative and express why you deserve to be considered for the ₦50,000–₦500,000 grant.

Writing a short, thoughtful message helps the organizers see that you’re serious, focused, and understand what the programme aims to achieve.

What to Write in the Message Box

Use that space to clearly explain why YEIDEP should approve your grant request. Keep your message brief, clear, and specific about your goals.

Before you write, make sure you understand what YEIDEP is really about.

Understanding the YEIDEP Programme

Although YEIDEP was initially thought to be for farmers only, new clarifications show that it’s open to all Nigerian youths involved in the agricultural value chain — from crop production to food processing, agribusiness, and agro-allied ventures.

The programme’s goal is to empower young Nigerians through agriculture, food entrepreneurship, and other productive ventures that contribute to national growth. You don’t need advanced farming skills; even those in related fields can participate.

According to YEIDEP Coordinator, Comrade Kennedy Iyere, the programme also covers other sectors like technology, entertainment, and the creative economy, giving young entrepreneurs in diverse industries a fair chance to benefit.

Sample Message You Can Use

If you’re already involved in farming or any small business related to agriculture, here’s an example of what you can write:

“I am applying for the YEIDEP grant to access the ₦50,000–₦500,000 funding to expand my agricultural activities and improve productivity. This support will help me invest in essential materials like [mention specific items, e.g., seeds, fertilizers, or equipment].

If approved, the grant will be used to enhance production, storage, and distribution. I am committed to using the funds responsibly to grow my business and contribute to Nigeria’s food security.”

You can also adapt the message to fit your own sector — whether it’s tech, food processing, or the creative industry. Just make sure your message highlights how the grant will help you grow your business and create value.
