Yoruba Community Suspends 'Sarkin Yorubawa' in Sokoto State for Misconduct

The Yoruba Community Council in Sokoto State has suspended Alhaji Abdulfatai Olayiwola Coker, also known as the Sarikin Yorubawa in the state, due to his alleged misconduct.

On April 19, a letter was signed by Chief James Olorunfemi, the council’s leader, and Imam Abdulwahab Lawal, the council’s secretary, informing everyone that Mr. Coker should stop referring to himself as the Oba of Yoruba in the state.

They sent letters to Coker and important officials, claiming the power to remove him if he doesn’t perform his duties well.

The Yoruba community council suspended Coker due to his failure to comply with their directives.

The Yoruba Community Council in Sokoto State has suspended Coker and dissolved his council due to a loss of confidence in him.

The council sent a letter to Coker, instructing him to stop claiming to be the Oba of Yoruba in the state, indicating a desire for fairness and stability in the community.
