Zamfara State Governor Dissolves Executive Council and Political Appointees

In a surprising move, His Excellency, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, has announced the dissolution of the State Executive Council and relieved all political appointees of their duties. The decision, which takes immediate effect, has sent shockwaves through the political landscape of the state.

The affected officers include members of the State Executive Council, Honourable Special Advisers, and Chairmen of Boards and Commissions, with the exception of certain commissions critical to the functioning of the state. Non-career Directors General, political-based Chief Executives of extra-ministerial departments, agencies, and companies, as well as Sole Administrators of the 14 Local Government Councils, Secretaries, Councilors, and Area Development Councils have also been relieved of their positions.

Chairmen of the affected Boards and Commissions are instructed to hand over to their secretaries, while Sole Administrators of the 14 Local Government Councils are expected to transfer authority to their respective Directors of Administration.

Expressing his gratitude for the efforts made by the dismissed public officers, Governor Matawalle acknowledged their individual and collective contributions to the development of Zamfara State during his tenure. He also extended his appreciation to the people of the state for their cooperation and support throughout his time as the Executive Governor.
