59-Year-Old Grandmother Breaks Pushup World Record with 1,575 in One Hour

A 59-year-old grandmother from Canada, DonnaJean Wilde, has shattered a Guinness World Record by completing 1,575 pushups within 60 minutes, setting a new benchmark for the most pushups done in an hour by a woman.

This historic achievement comes less than a year after Wilde captured another title in March 2024 for holding the longest plank by a woman, enduring an astonishing 4 hours, 30 minutes, and 11 seconds.

Wilde attributes her pushup success to the rigorous training regimen she adopted during her preparation for the planking record. She explained that incorporating 500 pushups into her daily routine fueled her newfound passion for the exercise.

For this record-breaking attempt, Wilde entered with extraordinary upper-body strength and an unyielding determination. She surpassed the previous record with 17 minutes to spare, continuing to push herself beyond expectations.

“It was an emotional moment, but I kept my focus. Even after breaking the record, I felt strong and was determined to maximize the remaining time,” Wilde shared.

With 11 of her 12 grandchildren cheering her on, the atmosphere was electrifying. They assisted by counting her sets and providing constant motivation. While the challenge tested her endurance, Wilde’s unwavering spirit carried her through.

This inspiring feat has not only solidified Wilde’s place in the record books but also serves as a testament to the power of dedication and resilience at any age.
