The All Progressive Congress (APC) has decided to seek legal redress against the declaration of the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) governorship candidate, Abba Yusuf, as the winner of the March 18 gubernatorial election in Kano. The APC spokesperson, Ahmed Aruwa, has stated that the declaration of the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) violates the electoral laws.
Despite the APC candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, congratulating the governor-elect, the party is adamant about seeking legal redress. Mr. Aruwa claimed that INEC acted contrary to the electoral rules by announcing Abba Gida Gida as the governor-elect of the State.

The decision to challenge the results of the gubernatorial election in Kano has generated reactions from political analysts and observers. While some people believe that the APC has the right to challenge the election results, others believe that the party should accept the outcome of the election and move on.
It is important to note that the electoral laws provide for the right of political parties and candidates to challenge the outcome of an election in court. This means that the APC has the legal right to challenge the declaration of the NNPP candidate as the winner of the election.
However, it is also important to note that the decision to challenge the election results could lead to a protracted legal battle that may drag on for months or even years. This could have negative implications for the state and the country as a whole.
It is therefore important for all stakeholders, including political parties and candidates, to respect the outcome of elections and the decisions of the electoral umpire. This will promote peace and stability in the country and ensure that democracy continues to thrive.
In conclusion, while the APC has the right to challenge the outcome of the gubernatorial election in Kano, it is important for the party to do so within the confines of the law and to ensure that its actions do not undermine the peace and stability of the state and the country as a whole.
