Bandits Attack Mosque, Killing Two in Katsina

Some suspected bandits attacked Mairuwa village in the Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State during Ramadan prayers on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. According to Abubakar Aliyu, the spokesperson for the Kastina State Police Command, the bandits invaded the village and killed two people. Additionally, they kidnapped several residents during the prayers. However, the kidnapped individuals were later rescued by the police, along with assistance from other security agents.

Aliyu stated, “On the 23rd of March, 2024, at exactly 8:30 pm, some suspected bandits attacked Mairuwa village during Ramadan prayers. They came to kidnap, and as a result, they shot and killed two persons. They kidnapped a number of persons. Our men, in collaboration with community watch corps and vigilantes, engaged the bandits in a gun duel. The security forces succeeded in repelling the attack, thereby rescuing all the kidnapped victims.”
