
Armed bandits launched an attack on Kanya village in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State on Saturday, resulting in the death of one person and the kidnapping of several others, including the district head, Isah Daya.
Police spokesperson in the state, Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed that the victim who was killed has been identified as Sherrif Alhaji Almu. Three other individuals were injured in the attack, and a total of eight people were abducted.

A combined security team, led by the police, has initiated a search operation to rescue the kidnapped individuals. The Kebbi State Government has also provided logistical support to tackle the rising banditry in the affected areas, especially in Kebbi South and Zuru Emirate.
This attack occurred just days after bandits killed the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Suru Local Government Area, heightening concerns over the increasing insecurity in the region. Efforts to restore peace and security in the state are ongoing.
