Be patient, Tinubu's Policies Showing Positive Results, Bagudu Says

In a recent national policy summit organized by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (P-BAT) Academics and Professionals, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, expressed confidence that the policies championed by President Tinubu are already producing positive outcomes for the nation. Bagudu, a former governor of Kebbi state, urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and maintain faith in the government’s transformative agenda.

Speaking at the summit themed “Activating the Policies and Promises in the Renewed Hope Agenda” in Abuja, Bagudu highlighted Tinubu’s successful track record of inclusive leadership in transforming Lagos. He emphasized the need for a support system to enable Tinubu to achieve his ambitious goal of elevating the economy from less than 500 billion GDP to a trillion Naira GDP within three years.

Bagudu acknowledged the necessity of removing fuel subsidies, describing it as a crucial step towards building a stronger economy for the future, even though it may be a painful measure. He assured Nigerians that there are numerous reforms in the pipeline and called for support to ensure their successful implementation.

The national coordinator and convener of P-BAT Academics and Professionals, Prof. Yemi Oke, emphasized the group’s commitment to providing constructive suggestions and solutions rather than mere criticism. Oke stated that the group aims to use its intellectual resources to support President Tinubu’s administration and contribute to policy implementations.

Tope Fasua, the Special Adviser on Economic Affairs in the office of the vice president, echoed Bagudu’s sentiments, affirming that the implementation of Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda is on course. Fasua highlighted the recent launch of the renewed hope housing estate idea, which aims to provide 200,000 houses nationwide.

Mary Ikoku, the media spokesperson of P-BAT, emphasized that group members, comprising professionals and academics, are actively involved in developing policies designed to transform Nigeria. These policies will be submitted to the government for implementation, contributing to the nation’s positive evolution.

As the nation anticipates the fruition of Tinubu’s policies, Bagudu and other speakers called for patience and encouraged citizens to engage in the governance process by offering objective views and values. The transformative journey, they believe, requires collective effort and support from all stakeholders.
