Governor Zulum emphasized that this effort represents the second phase of the government’s response to the removal of fuel subsidies. Out of the 70 newly acquired buses, 30 will be dedicated to transporting civil servants to their workplaces between 7:00 am and 9:00 am, with a return service between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm on weekdays.
“I want you to ensure that these buses start operations tomorrow morning (Tuesday) without fail. However, please be mindful of our situation and ensure that you keep transportation costs affordable. Let us consider it as a social service and not as a revenue generation drive,” urged Governor Zulum during the unveiling ceremony.
Governor Zulum also commended the management of the state-owned transport company for their commitment to improving the welfare of both serving and retired staff. He noted that since assuming office, the General Manager had consistently ensured timely payment of staff entitlements, a commendable practice that benefits the entire workforce.
