The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has postponed the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), shifting it from January 31 to February 3, 2025. The board explained that the adjustment was necessary to implement essential updates to its registration system, ensuring a smoother and more efficient process for candidates.
JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, stated that the delay was due to the recent suspension of certain law programmes at selected universities as recommended by the Council for Legal Education. This required adjustments to the registration template to align with the new academic regulations. Additionally, JAMB discovered that some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres had used deceptive means to gain approval, prompting the board to conduct a thorough review and disqualify such centres.

Despite the shift in registration dates, the Mock UTME remains scheduled for April 5, 2025, while the main examination will take place from April 25 to May 5, 2025.
JAMB urged candidates to ensure they register at only accredited CBT centres and follow official guidelines to avoid complications. The board reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent and credible examination process, encouraging candidates to stay updated through its official website and communication channels.
