The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the release of results for the supplementary Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) 2024. This update brings significant relief and clarity to thousands of candidates who participated in the supplementary exams.
The supplementary UTME was conducted over two days, from Friday, June 21 to Saturday, June 22, 2024. This examination was specifically arranged for 28,835 candidates who faced challenges during the main 2024 UTME. These challenges included biometric verification issues and suspected examination malpractices. Many candidates were unable to be biometrically verified during the main UTME, which barred them from taking the exam at that time. Another group of candidates, suspected of involvement in examination malpractices, were given a second chance to prove their integrity by sitting for the supplementary examination.
The spokesperson for JAMB, Fabian Benjamin, highlighted that the supplementary examination was conducted successfully nationwide. To ensure the integrity of the examination process, JAMB implemented stringent security measures. These measures were crucial in preventing any form of examination fraud or malpractice. Several individuals attempting to impersonate legitimate candidates were apprehended and handed over to law enforcement agencies for further investigation and prosecution.

The board has deployed advanced technology to monitor and secure the examinations before, during, and after they are conducted. This ongoing effort aims to ensure that no candidate can benefit from any acts of malpractice. Candidates are strongly advised to adhere to all examination rules and regulations. JAMB has warned against engaging in any form of irregularity, such as soliciting score upgrades or tampering with result sheets. The board’s stance is clear: any form of examination malpractice will be met with strict consequences.
Candidates who participated in the supplementary UTME can check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” to either 55019 or 66019. It is important to use the same phone number that was used to generate their profile codes during registration. This ensures a smooth and accurate retrieval of results.
The release of the 2024 supplementary UTME results marks an important milestone for candidates who faced challenges during the main examination. JAMB’s efforts to uphold the integrity of its examination processes are commendable, ensuring a fair opportunity for all candidates.
