The Kebbi squad secured the championship in a decisive fashion during the Super 4 Tournament, which concluded recently in Kaduna. This victory underscores their extraordinary skills and unwavering dedication to the sport.

The finals, held at the Murtala Muhammed Square in Kaduna, were the climax of an intense season that also featured preliminary rounds in Kebbi and Anambra States. Teams such as Jigawa GS BSC and Nmanko Patigi BSC fell short of making it to the Super 4 playoffs.
The Super 4 playoffs showcased exhilarating beach soccer action, with Kebbi BSC defeating formidable opponents, including Kebbi United BSC and Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors, to clinch the championship. Despite a narrow 3-2 loss to Kada Stars of Kaduna in a penalty shootout, Kebbi BSC’s overall performance secured them the title and a winners’ prize of N600,000.

With six points in the finals, Kebbi BSC outperformed debutants Anambra Warriors, who finished second and took home N400,000. Kebbi United secured third place, earning N300,000, while Kada Stars finished fourth, pocketing N200,000.
Kebbi BSC’s prowess was further highlighted by individual accolades. Hassan Abdullahi was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), while Kebbi United’s Sadiq Umar emerged as the top goalscorer with 17 goals. Additionally, Umar Aliyu of Kebbi United was recognized as the Rising Star of the competition, and Festus Bashorun of Anambra Warriors was named the best goalkeeper. Kada Stars received the Fair Play trophy for their commendable sportsmanship.
As the 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League concludes, the focus of the beach soccer community shifts to the Supersand Eagles’ preparations for the 2024 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Mauritania. The first leg is set to take place in Nouakchott on July 20, with the return leg scheduled for Nigeria a week later.
This historic victory for Kebbi BSC not only cements their legacy in Nigerian beach soccer but also sets the stage for more thrilling beach soccer action in the upcoming international fixtures.
