In a surprising turn of events, former Spain U21 standout, Brahim Díaz, has decided to play for Morocco at the senior level instead of his country of birth. The 24-year-old Real Madrid attacking midfielder, who previously represented Spain at the U17, U19, and U21 levels, has communicated his final decision to the Moroccan Federation.

Despite making a single appearance for the Spanish senior national team, Diaz, born in Spain to a Spanish mother and a Moroccan father, remains eligible to play for Morocco. Football expert Fabricio Romano confirmed the news, stating, “He’s going to play for Morocco and not for Spain. Just a matter of time before it will be made official by all parties involved.”
This decision marks a significant move for Diaz, as he chooses to play for Morocco, adding another layer of diversity to the Moroccan national team. The official confirmation of his choice is expected soon.
