In a recent development, the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) have jointly declared a 7-day warning strike. The decision stems from the demand for the payment of four months’ worth of withheld salaries for their members, following the nationwide strike in 2022.

The resolution to initiate the warning strike was reached during a meeting held in Akure over the weekend by the joint action committee of the two unions.
