Sokoto Governor Aliyu Approves Half Salary as Ramadan Gift for Workers and Pensioners

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu, has approved the payment of half salary as a Ramadan gift to all civil servants, including primary school teachers, local government staff, and pensioners in the state. The governor stated that this initiative is aimed at ensuring that Muslims in the state can comfortably observe the Ramadan fast this year.

A statement released by his media aide, Abubakar Bawa, on Sunday explained that the governor’s gesture is intended to assist workers in the state during the sacred month of Ramadan, starting from tonight. Governor Aliyu also urged the Muslim community to utilize the holy month for prayers, seeking Allah’s intervention in addressing the numerous challenges hindering Nigeria’s development.

Furthermore, he called upon traders and affluent individuals in the state to show compassion and generosity to those less fortunate, emphasizing that such acts of kindness would earn Allah’s mercy and forgiveness during Ramadan. The governor expressed gratitude to the people of the state for their ongoing support and prayers, attributing their contributions to the success achieved by his administration.
