
Nigerian comedian and show promoter, Mr Jollof, recently claimed that Burna Boy turned down a whopping N1 billion performance fee for a concert organized by him and some investors in Warri, Delta State. According to Mr Jollof, they offered the singer’s team $1 million (equivalent to N1.3 billion) for the performance, but it was rejected on the grounds that it fell short of Burna Boy’s usual charges.

In a Pidgin English Instagram post, Mr Jollof expressed his disappointment, suggesting that Burna Boy may no longer be as accessible in the Nigerian music scene due to being more focused on the global market. He hinted that Burna Boy’s international success might be a factor in the rejection of the offer, lamenting the missed opportunities to utilize the artist more before his global breakthrough.
