The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced that the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exam will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025. This announcement was made by JAMB’s Public Communications Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a public statement on Sunday.

According to JAMB, a total of 96,838 candidates are expected to participate in this special examination. The breakdown shows that 5,096 candidates were unable to complete their original UTME due to biometric verification issues, while 91,742 candidates were absent from both the main and rescheduled UTME sessions. These candidates are now eligible to take part in the mop-up exercise.

The exam will be held across 183 approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide. Candidates are advised to visit the official JAMB portal to print their notification slips starting Monday, June 23, 2025. The slip will indicate the exact examination time and centre for each candidate. JAMB has emphasized that the first session will begin at 8:00 a.m. sharp, and all candidates must arrive at least one hour before the exam start time.

In preparation for a smooth and credible process, JAMB has delisted 113 CBT centres that were either involved in exam malpractice or failed to meet the expected technical standards during the main UTME. Investigations are ongoing, and centres found guilty of any irregularities may face legal actions.

To strengthen exam integrity and prevent fraud, security operatives from the State Security Service (SSS), the Nigeria Police Force, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) will be deployed to monitor the conduct of the exam across all centres. JAMB has warned candidates to ignore unauthorized information shared on social media platforms and rely only on official communication from the board.

JAMB has also advised all eligible candidates to take the exam seriously, ensure they print their slips on time, and appear at their centres early. The board assured the public that it remains committed to a transparent and fair examination process for all candidates.
