Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), in partnership with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), has announced the commencement of the 2023 National University Scholarship Awards. This initiative represents a significant investment in education by the companies, aiming to support qualified Nigerian students across all states of the federation. The scholarship program aligns with their strategic social investment for the development of education in Nigeria
Interested candidates are required to submit their applications on or before 23rd June 2023.
Eligibility Criteria and Available Courses:
- Full-time, second-year (200 level) degree students studying the following courses in Nigerian Universities (admitted in the 2021/2022 academic session):
- Agricultural Science
- Business Administration/Economics
- Computer Science
- Environmental Studies/Surveying
- Geology/Geophysics/Geo Informatics
- Mass Communication/Journalism
- The NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture also offers scholarships specifically for blind/visually impaired second-year (200 level) degree students studying any course in Nigerian Universities.
Application Process and Required Documents:
Before initiating the application process, applicants are advised to prepare clear scanned copies of the following documents:
- Passport photograph (not more than 6 months old, 450px by 450px, and not exceeding 200kb)
- School ID card
- Admission letter
- Birth certificate
- O’ Level result
- JAMB result
- Local Government Area letter of identification
Applicants should visit the official scholarship portal at https://candidate.scholastica.ng/schemes/2023cnlawards and follow the steps outlined below:
- Click on the “Apply Now” tab.
- Register an account by clicking on “Register Now.“
- Activate the account by following the instructions sent to the provided email address.
- Return to the scholarship site by visiting https://candidate.scholastica.ng/schemes/2023CNLawards.
- Log in using the registered email and password to upload the necessary information.
- Fill in personal information, National Identification Number (if available), educational information, and other required details. Upload the scanned documents according to the provided instructions.
- Ensure that the names used in the application match the names on all documentation. If there is a discrepancy, upload a sworn affidavit or certificate to address the issue.
- Verify all uploaded documents to eliminate errors.
- Upload a passport photograph with a white background.
- Review the application information for accuracy.
- Return to “Active Scholarships,” click on the desired scheme, and select “Apply Now” to submit the information.
- Upon successful application, applicants will receive a notification on the screen and via email. They can confirm the submission by checking “My application” under the “My account” section on their profile.
- Download the profile from www.scholastica.ng, and have the Head of Department sign the document.
- Upload a scanned copy of the signed profile for verification purposes.
- If the National Identification Number (NIN) was not available during the application process, applicants should visit http://ninenrol.gov.ng to register and obtain their NIN. Update the application on www.scholastica.ng with the NIN to ensure completion.
- Only applications submitted through the official web portal will be considered.
- SCHOLASTICA is the designated platform for the NNPC/CNL JV National University Scholarship program.
- Selection of successful candidates will be based on academic indices and credentials submitted.
- Applicants must provide accurate and complete information.
- Applying for the NNPC/CNL JV scholarship disqualifies candidates from applying for any other scholarship programs sponsored by Chevron Nigeria Limited, NNPC, or their affiliates.
- The application process is free, and applicants should not make any payments.
- Email applications will not be accepted.
- Chevron Nigeria Limited does not appoint representatives or agents for application assistance.
- Applicants found to have submitted false documents will be disqualified.
- If awarded the scholarship, it is non-transferable to another university or course of study.
