The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has issued a new public announcement to address concerns over recruitment information circulating on social media platforms.
According to the latest update from the Board, although there is Presidential approval for the recruitment of new personnel into the four paramilitary services under its jurisdiction—namely the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Immigration Service—the actual recruitment process has not yet officially commenced.
The CDCFIB emphasized that all genuine recruitment updates will be made available to the public through authorized national newspapers and the official recruitment portal. The Board assured applicants that the recruitment process will be free, transparent, and merit-based, with no requirement for any form of payment at any stage.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. AM Jibril (Rtd), the public was strongly warned against falling victim to fraudsters and fake recruitment agents. These scammers often spread false information or forged letters online to trick job seekers into paying money for non-existent positions.
Job seekers are advised to be cautious and to avoid sharing personal or financial details with unauthorized individuals or websites. Any suspicious recruitment claims should be reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
