Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has fulfilled his promise to workers and pensioners by paying their June salaries and pensions ahead of the Sallah celebration. This early payment, announced by Commissioner for Communications and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, underscores the state government’s commitment to timely salary disbursement.
The payment, traditionally made before the 26th of every month, aims to ensure that workers and pensioners can enjoy a festive Sallah celebration with their families. Nehikhare emphasized that Edo State remains a leader in promptly meeting its salary obligations, even after raising the minimum wage to N70,000, the highest in Nigeria.
