The applications for our Fellowships Program 2025 are now open! This is your chance to join a vibrant community of master’s, PhD, and medical students, as well as apprentices, early career professionals, student teachers, and educators, who are dedicated to advancing research and innovation. With opportunities designed to support international research projects, internships, and more, our program provides up to 10.000 € funding for placements lasting up to six months.

Fellowship Options for Every Passion

Scientific Fellowships for Master, PhD, and Medical Students

Our scientific fellowships are ideal for outstanding master’s, PhD, and medical students eager to pursue international research projects or internships. These fellowships offer additional funding for international placements, enhancing academic programs and building cross-border networks.

Fellowship in Drug Discovery Sciences

This fellowship is perfect for master or PhD students from all scientific disciplines—including pharmacy and data science—who are engaged in fundamental or applied studies relevant to the pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare (over-the-counter) industries.

Fellowship for Agricultural Science

Designed for master or PhD students from all scientific disciplines (including data science), this fellowship focuses on fundamental or applied studies with relevance to the Crop Science industry, driving innovation in agricultural research.

Fellowship for Medical Sciences

For students of human and veterinary medicine, or master and PhD students in medical engineering, applied medical sciences, data science in medicine, and public health, this fellowship supports research that makes an impact in the field of medical sciences.

New! Fellowship for Climate & Health

In response to emerging global challenges, our new Fellowship for Climate & Health is tailored for students in the fields of human or veterinary medicine, or master and PhD students in natural sciences, pharmacy, public health, or epidemiology. Projects should explore the impact of climate change on health with a focus on:

• The health of women and other vulnerable populations
• Cardio-Renal Health
• Neglected Tropical Diseases
• Respiratory Health

Funding, Duration, and Placement Details

• Funding: Up to 10.000 € is available per fellowship.
• Duration: Fellowships can be undertaken for up to six months.
• Placement Requirements:
  • Individuals studying in Germany must complete placements in a second country.
  • Applicants studying outside Germany must undertake their fellowships at a German research institution.

These fellowships can be used for a range of activities including research projects, internships, and more, providing a robust platform for academic and professional growth.

• Otto Bayer, former Director of Research at Bayer
• Jeff Schell, co-founder of Plant Genetic Systems now part of Bayer Crop Science
• Carl Duisberg, former Chairman of the Board of Management at Bayer
