FULL LIST: FG Plans to Spend N679bn on 13 Road Projects Across Nigeria

The Federal Government has approved N679 billion for the construction and rehabilitation of 13 major road projects across the country. The initiative aims to improve road infrastructure, enhance connectivity, and boost economic activities in various regions.

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, disclosed this after a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, stating that the projects will be executed in phases, with varying completion timelines.

Full List of Approved Road Projects:

  1. Aakalari-Ukuk Road (Bauchi State) – N11.28 billion allocated, completion expected in six months.
  2. Uturu-Isikwuato-Akara Road (Abia State) – N5.93 billion set aside for rehabilitation, first phase to last six months.
  3. Zaria-Ukui-Kolomani-Dan Bali-Maraba-Kanya-Subawa-Kasa Road (Kaduna/Katsina States) – N198 billion awarded to MotherCat Nigeria Limited, expected completion in three years.
  4. Kano-Maiduguri Road – Now reassigned to Tractor Nigeria Limited with a revised budget of N128.4 billion, slated for completion in 18 months.
  5. Bagudu Road (Kebbi State) – N2.65 billion allocated for a 57-kilometer stretch.
  6. Oba-Nnewi-Arondizogu-Okigwe Road (Imo/Anambra States) – N8.45 billion approved, with the first phase set for six months.
  7. Iyin-Ilawe-Ekiti Road (Ekiti State) – Initial N13.74 billion allocation increased by N15.63 billion for additional work.
  8. Ilogu Road (Kwara/Osun States) – First phase valued at N7.56 billion, expected to be completed within six months.
  9. Wukari-Akwana Road (Taraba State) – N12.62 billion allocated, with a one-year completion period.
  10. Bida-Lapaya-Lambda Road (Niger State) – N39.49 billion assigned for the first phase, with a six-month timeline.
  11. Gada-Zamazuru-Gamji Road – N11.98 billion allocated, with completion set for six months.
  12. Kamakish Road (Oyo State) – N12.35 billion budgeted, with a one-year timeline.
  13. Aba-Ikot-Ekpene Road Dualisation – N30 billion contract awarded to CGC Nigeria Limited for phased construction.

Economic and Social Impact

The government says these projects will improve transportation networks, facilitate trade, and enhance regional integration. The Ministry of Works will oversee the execution to ensure quality delivery and timely completion.
