
The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) recruits candidates into three main cadres, and within each cadre are different ranks. Each rank has its own qualification requirements. Below is the full list.

Superintendent Cadre (SC)
This cadre is for higher-level officer ranks, mostly for graduates.

Inspectorate Cadre (IC)
This cadre is for mid-level roles, usually for diploma or NCE holders.

This is the entry-level category for SSCE holders and those with basic certificates.

| Customs Assistant I (CA I) | Senior Secondary School Certificate (WAEC, NECO, GCE) with a minimum of 5 credits including English and Mathematics in not more than two sittings. Age: 18–25 years. |

| Customs Assistant III (CA III) | Junior Secondary School Certificate or equivalent trade test certificate. Age: 18–25 years. |
General Requirements for All Ranks
- Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth or descent
- Must have a valid means of identification (NIN, voter’s card, or international passport)
- Must be medically and physically fit, with a height of not less than 1.7m for males and 1.64m for females
- Chest measurement of at least 0.87m (men only)
- Must not belong to any secret society, cult, or fraternity
- Must be of good character and free from criminal record

- Create an account with a valid email and phone number
- Fill out the online form carefully and upload required documents
- Submit your application and print out the acknowledgment slip
- Wait for shortlisting and screening updates from NCS
