The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) recruits candidates into three main cadres, and within each cadre are different ranks. Each rank has its own qualification requirements. Below is the full list.

Superintendent Cadre (SC)
This cadre is for higher-level officer ranks, mostly for graduates.

This cadre is for mid-level roles, usually for diploma or NCE holders.

General Requirements for All Ranks
- Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth or descent
- Must have a valid means of identification (NIN, voter’s card, or international passport)
- Must be medically and physically fit, with a height of not less than 1.7m for males and 1.64m for females
- Chest measurement of at least 0.87m (men only)
- Must not belong to any secret society, cult, or fraternity
- Must be of good character and free from criminal record
