During a condolence visit to the affected communities of Tadurga in Zuru LGA and Kyebu in Danko/Wasagu LGA, Governor Idris emphasized that security is the top priority of his administration.
“No government will fold its arms and allow its law-abiding citizens to suffer at the hands of bandits and other criminals,” he stated.
Swift Action and Equipment Deployment
Governor Idris confirmed that he had secured the immediate deployment of Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and other security equipment from Abuja. He directed that temporary accommodations be provided for soldiers pending the construction of a permanent army base structure in the Zuru axis.
Reinforcing Security Architecture
The governor revealed that his administration had invested heavily in security infrastructure. So far, 80 Hilux vehicles and 1,500 motorcycles have been distributed to various security and vigilante units, particularly in high-risk areas. Security personnel operating in affected communities have also received increased allowances as part of state-led support initiatives.
Tough Stance on Informants
Speaking strongly against informants aiding bandit operations, Governor Idris declared the government’s intention to pursue harsher penalties.

Governor Idris, accompanied by top state officials, offered prayers for the deceased and the injured. He assured the people of continued government support and restated his commitment to restoring peace and normalcy.
The Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Sani Sami-Gomo II, expressed appreciation for the governor’s prompt visit and praised the ongoing efforts to enhance security in the region.
“Your presence means a lot to us. We are deeply grateful for your intervention and commitment to our people,” the Emir said.
Outlook: Hope Amid Unrest
As insecurity remains a challenge in parts of Northern Nigeria, the Zuru Army base is expected to serve as a stronghold in the fight against armed groups. Community members have been urged to cooperate with security agencies and provide useful intelligence to ensure lasting peace.
