Her Excellency Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu Launches Maternal Health Program in Kebbi State

Kebbi State, 13th June 2023 – Her Excellency, Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, has officially initiated a program aimed at alleviating financial burdens and improving maternal health and safe delivery in Kebbi State. The event took place today at the Primary Health Care centers of Dalijan ward in Gwandu LGA and Alwasa in Argungu LGA.

The program, organized through the Nafisa Nasir Charity Development Foundation (NANAS), focused on distributing delivery packs to pregnant women in Alwasa and Dalijan respectively.

During her address, Her Excellency emphasized the importance of regular antenatal care visits and hospital deliveries to reduce maternal mortality rates. She urged pregnant women to make use of the Long-Lasting Insecticide Nets (LLINs) provided to protect against malaria, a leading cause of unborn baby deaths.

Furthermore, Her Excellency reassured the public of her ongoing commitment to maternal, newborn, child health, nutrition, and overall healthcare in Kebbi State and beyond. Through NANAS Foundation and her role as the Governor’s wife, she pledged to continue working tirelessly to improve healthcare services.

As part of her efforts, Her Excellency paid a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of Alwasa, seeking his blessings and prayers. The traditional ruler expressed his profound joy and assured Her Excellency of his unwavering support and cooperation.

Her Excellency Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu’s philanthropic endeavors in Kebbi State have been highly commendable. May God continue to bless her, and may she be rewarded with Jannatul Firdausi for her selfless service.
