The Nigerian Army has announced that it is currently recruiting new soldiers for the 2023 recruitment exercise. To be considered for recruitment, applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess either a National Identity Card/NIN or BVN. They must also be single, medically, physically, and psychologically fit in accordance with Nigerian Army standards, and free of any criminal convictions by the court of law. Additionally, applicants must possess a valid birth certificate/age declaration endorsed by the National Population Commission, Hospital, or Local Government Council, as well as a valid certificate of state of origin.

Eligibility For 2022/2023 Nigerian Army Recruitment
Candidates must not be less than 18 years or more than 22 years for non-trades men/women, while trades men/women must not be more than 26 years as of April 31, 2023. They must also be at least 1.68 meters and 1.65 meters tall for male and female candidates, respectively. All applicants must possess a minimum of 4 passes in not more than two sittings in WASCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB.
For those applying as tradesmen/women, Trade Test/City Guild Certificate is also required. Details on this can be found on the website.
It is important to note that there will be no pre-selection computer-based test or zonal screening exercise. All screening of potential recruits will be conducted at the candidates’ respective state of origin. Candidates are also expected to adhere to COVID-19 protocols, which include regular washing of hands, use of face masks, and observing physical distance.
Furthermore, candidates are advised not to bring electronic or recording devices to the venue of the State Recruitment Exercise. They should also come with their BVN printout and not give any form of gratification or inducement to any person or group of persons to assist them in the recruitment exercise.
Names of shortlisted candidates for screening will be published on the NA website for the awareness of all candidates. Shortlisted candidates are to report to their respective states of origin for the screening exercise from May 2 to May 17, 2023.
