The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced the registration of unemployed persons in Lagos State in a bid to curb mass unemployment and reduce the craving for white-collar jobs. The exercise will take place between April 17 and April 28, 2023, at the NDE office located at 7 Barikisu Iyede Street, Onike, Yaba, and in all 20 local government areas in the state.
The NDE is an organization set up by the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 1986 to address the issue of mass unemployment in the country. The registration of unemployed persons in Lagos State is part of the Federal Government’s effort to have complete data of unemployed persons across the country to make adequate plans for them.
Mrs. Serena Edward, the Coordinator of NDE Lagos State office, urged all unemployed persons in Lagos State to take advantage of this opportunity and register at their designated local government areas to benefit from the programme. This initiative is aimed at providing employment opportunities and reducing poverty in the state.
Unemployed persons in Lagos State are encouraged to visit the NDE office at 7 Barikisu Iyede Street, Onike, Yaba, or their local government areas to register for the programme. The registration exercise will only last for a limited period, from April 17 to April 28, 2023.
The registration exercise is a great opportunity for unemployed persons in Lagos State to take the first step towards securing employment opportunities. Interested individuals are advised to register on time to benefit from the Federal Government’s NDE programme.
