In a significant announcement, Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate, has declared that he will drop his legal battle against President Bola Tinubu if the Supreme Court rules in favor of the incumbent president. This statement comes in the midst of the controversy surrounding Tinubu’s academic records, recently released by the Chicago State University (CSU).
Atiku emphasized his commitment to the rule of law and democracy, stating, “I have always had faith in the judiciary as the last bastion of justice and the ultimate arbiter in matters of dispute. If the Supreme Court rules in President Tinubu’s favor, I will respect that decision and drop any ongoing legal challenges.” This announcement underscores the importance of respecting legal institutions and ensuring a peaceful and equitable electoral process in the lead-up to the 2023 Nigerian presidential elections.
