
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially opened applications for new job vacancies across Nigeria. The Commission is inviting qualified candidates to apply for the positions of Registration Area Officers (RAOs) and other professional roles.
According to the notice, these opportunities are available on Grade Levels 07, 08, and 09–14. The vacancies are spread across Local Government Areas (LGAs) and professional departments within INEC.

- Open to candidates with a Bachelor’s or HND degree in Social Sciences, Sciences, or Humanities.
- A Master’s degree or professional qualifications are added advantages.
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is required.
- Work experience after graduation is an added advantage.
- Administrative Officer II (Registration Area Officer) – Grade Level 08
- Requires a Bachelor’s or HND degree in Social Sciences, Sciences, or Humanities.
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is mandatory.
- Executive Officer (Registration Area Officer) – Grade Level 07
- Candidates must hold either a National Certificate in Education (NCE) or a National Diploma.
- A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience is required.

General Requirements for Applicants
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be Nigerian citizens.
- Present a valid Certificate of State of Origin, signed by the Chairman or Secretary of their Local Government (endorsements from Liaison Officers are not accepted).
- Be computer literate.
- Be certified by a Government Medical Officer as physically and mentally fit.
- Be within the age limit of 35 years for entry-level roles and 45 years for experienced hires.
Job Descriptions
- For Professionals/Experienced Hires: Successful candidates will work in INEC’s professional departments as assigned.
- For Registration Area Officers (RAOs): Duties include managing voter data, maintaining polling unit records, compiling registers of voters, issuing voter cards, and monitoring electoral activities within their assigned registration areas.
