In a decisive move to uphold the integrity of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration process, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has suspended two Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for procedural breaches.
The affected centres are the Federal College of Education (Technical) Centre 2 in Potiskum, Yobe State, and the CBT Centre in Otukpo, Benue State. According to JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the 14-day suspension was imposed due to a serious procedural violation that compromised security measures and the accuracy of candidate data.

Blank Registration Templates Lead to Suspension
Dr. Benjamin explained that UTME candidates are required to manually complete their registration details before uploading them onto the official portal. Additionally, the completed template serves as evidence of their choices and submitted information. However, the sanctioned centres disregarded these guidelines by submitting blank registration templates in an attempt to artificially boost candidate submissions.

He warned that such actions undermine the credibility of the registration process and could lead to the outright cancellation of erring centres from participating in JAMB-related activities.
Strict Compliance Required from CBT Centres
JAMB has reiterated that all accredited CBT centres must ensure proper documentation before uploading candidate details. The suspension serves as a stern warning to others, emphasizing that any future breaches will attract severe consequences, including permanent disqualification from JAMB’s operations.
The 2025 UTME registration, which commenced on February 3, 2025, is set to conclude on March 8, 2025. Candidates and CBT centres are urged to adhere strictly to the prescribed procedures to avoid disruptions.
