Presidential adviser and former Daily Trust journalist Bashir Ahmad have announced the new acting CJN that is expected to be appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari following the resignation of Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad.
In a statement, Presidential Adviser Bashir Ahmad announced that Justice Olukayode Ariwoola would be sworn in by President Muhammadu Buhari as the interim CJN following the resignation of Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammadu due to personal problems.
Bashir Ahmad announced on his Twitter account shortly after Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad resigned.
According to Bashir Ahmad; “Justice Olukayode Ariwoola to be sworn in as acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) by President Muhammadu Buhari today.”
This follows shortly after Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammadu resigned due to his short illness.
President Buhari will swear in the new Chief Justice of Nigeria who is expected to swear in Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the new CJN.
