The Federal Government has announced the commencement of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Award Scholarship (NA) program. The scholarship is open to qualified and interested Nigerians who wish to further their studies in public tertiary institutions across the country.

Eligibility For The Federal Scholarship Award

According to the Honourable Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, the scholarship is designed to support postgraduate students with a minimum of first degree with Second Class Honours Upper Division. Applicants must also be registered full-time students of Federal or State Universities.

For undergraduate applicants, including those with physical disabilities, a minimum of 4.0 Cumulative Grade Points Aggregate (CGPA) on a five-point scale or its equivalent is required. This is in addition to being registered full-time students in their second year or above in Federal or State Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, and Colleges of Education.

Important Information About The Federal Scholarship Award

The scholarship is tenable only in Nigeria and will take effect from the beginning of the academic session. The award cannot be held at the same time with another scholarship, nor can it be used for part-time studies. It is also important to note that change of course or institution is not allowed while enjoying the award.

Requirement For The Field Of Study

The scholarship covers various fields of study, including Science and Technology, Medicine and Para-medicals, Education, Agriculture, Liberal Arts/Social/Management Sciences, Entrepreneurial Studies, ICT, Environmental Sciences, and Law.

Method Of Application

Interested applicants are advised to visit the Federal Ministry of Education’s website at www.education.gov.ng and click on the Federal Scholarship Board ICON on the Home Page. Guidelines on how to apply for the scholarship are provided on the website. Completed application forms should be printed and submitted along with a letter of admission to the institution and CGPA results.

It is essential to note that this application does not attract any processing fee. Applicants are advised to be vigilant and beware of fraudsters who might demand a processing fee.
