Senator Shehu announced on his Twitter account shortly after the PDP fielded Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as its Vice Presidential candidate to stand with Atiku Abubakar.
According to him; “Congratulations to Okowa: An equitably balanced team.”
The PDP is currently divided along religious, regional, and ethnic lines, with Atiku Abubakar as a Hausa-Fulani, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as an Igbo, Atiku Abubakar as the North-east, and Ifeanyi Okowa from the South-South Region.
Presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmad Tinubu has not yet announced his candidacy for the vice presidency, although the deadline for the Vice Presidential candidate submission will be closed today.
Some accuse Bola Tinubu of fielding a Muslim as his Vice Presidential candidate even though he is also a Muslim.
Southern Nigerians have threatened Bola Tinubu with rejection if he fielded a Muslim Vice Presidential candidate.
