The Chairman of Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area in Kebbi State, Hussaini Aliyu, has released the complete list of the 25 schoolgirls abducted from Government Girls Comprehensive School, Maga. He also dismissed the claim made by U.S. lawmaker Riley Moore suggesting that the attack took place in a Christian community.
Aliyu stressed that the information circulating outside Nigeria does not reflect the true situation on the ground. He explained that all students kidnapped are Muslims, and the community where the incident occurred has never been divided along religious lines. According to him, such misleading statements can escalate tensions at a time when security agencies are actively working to rescue the girls.
He further noted that the Zuru Emirate, where the Maga community belongs, is known for peaceful coexistence between people of different backgrounds. Aliyu urged foreign commentators to verify their claims carefully to avoid misrepresenting Nigeria during a sensitive security situation.

Efforts Toward Rescue
Aliyu assured residents and Nigerians at large that the local government is working closely with security operatives to secure the safe release of the victims. He appealed for calm, noting that sharing false narratives or politically-motivated comments can distract attention from the rescue operations.
Security agencies, traditional leaders, and community volunteers are coordinating efforts across the region to speed up recovery of the schoolgirls. The chairman reaffirmed that all hands remain on deck until every child is safely reunited with her family.
