The festival, which attracts visitors from around the world, plays a crucial role in the state’s tourism industry, providing economic opportunities for local businesses, artisans, and entrepreneurs.
“Our recent visit to China was focused on attracting foreign investors. As a result, we signed an agreement with reputable investors worth $200 million, equivalent to N330 billion,” Idris stated.
This investment is expected to create employment, enhance infrastructure, and further position Kebbi as a prime tourism destination in Nigeria.
Security Improvements Boost Economic Growth
Governor Idris also noted a significant improvement in security within Yauri, allowing farmers and businesses to operate more freely. This progress, facilitated by the state government’s efforts, ensures that economic activities linked to tourism can thrive without disruption.

Dr. Yusuf Sununu, the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction and Chairman of the occasion, emphasized the economic potential of cultural diversity. He linked the Rigata Festival’s international recognition to President Bola Tinubu’s vision for economic transformation through cultural heritage.
“Rigata is not just a festival; it’s a legacy. Its global recognition highlights the peaceful and prosperous environment Kebbi is fostering,” Sununu said.
