MSSN Birnin Kebbi Holds Successful Two-Day Quiz and Essay Competition for Muslim Students

The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Birnin Kebbi Area Council, has successfully concluded a two-day Quiz and Essay Writing Competition aimed at fostering academic excellence and moral development among Muslim students. The event was held at Government Day Girls Secondary School, Birnin Kebbi, from Saturday 27th to Sunday 28th Thul’Kiddah 1446AH, corresponding to May 24–25, 2025.

The annual event, organized by the MSSN Birnin Kebbi Area Council, attracted over 300 participants from 20 public and private secondary schools within the council. It featured a wide range of intellectually stimulating activities, including English and Arabic debates, impromptu speeches, essay writing, passage reading, spelling bees, and written quizzes.

According to the organizers, the competition is part of MSSN’s continuous effort to prepare Muslim students for future academic and societal challenges. The activities are designed not only to test knowledge but also to develop students’ creativity, confidence, and communication skills in both English and Arabic languages.

Speaking at the event, the Council emphasized that the purpose of the competition is to select outstanding students who will represent Birnin Kebbi Area Council at the state-level contests. The process, they noted, ensures that participants are evaluated beyond mere point accumulation, with a focus on deeper understanding and personal development.

Dignitaries present at the occasion included Bro. Abdullahi Yusuf, the Deputy Ameer I of MSSN Kebbi Area Unit, Bro. Abubakar M. Shehu, the QEC Coordinator of Kebbi Area Unit, and Mr. Oumar Wolandekoye, Principal of Polytechnic Staff Academy, alongside MSSN patrons and members of the Local Organizing Committee.

In his closing remarks, the Amir (President) of MSSN Birnin Kebbi Area Council, Abubakar Baiti Abubakar, expressed gratitude to Allah (SWT) for the successful and hitch-free execution of the program. He also appreciated all contributors whether in being presence there or kind for their support in making the competition a success.
