In a groundbreaking development, Akindele Egbuwalo, the National Programme Manager of N-Power, has unveiled plans to rectify the protracted issue of unpaid stipends for beneficiaries of the Batch C programme. This comes in the wake of the suspension of the N-Power programme by the Federal Government, citing allegations of ghost beneficiaries and concerns regarding withheld funds.
The N-Power initiative, initially established during the tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari, was designed to combat the pressing issue of youth unemployment by providing beneficiaries with a monthly stipend of N30,000.

In a recent statement, Akindele Egbuwalo disclosed that the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has successfully recovered some of the funds that were previously unaccounted for. During a meeting with representatives of the N-Power beneficiaries, he shared the promising news, saying, “The good news is that the funds have been recovered, and you will be getting your money soon. Egbuwalo also emphasized the diligent efforts of Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, in rectifying irregularities within the N-Power program and other social investment initiatives. These irregularities had eroded the public’s trust in the government’s ability to provide social safety nets, but Dr. Betta Edu is working tirelessly to address these issues and uphold President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Mandate for Nigerians.
Numerous issues that had previously hindered the smooth implementation of the N-Power program are now being actively addressed. Upon assuming her role, it was evident that many beneficiaries had not received their monthly allowances. Funds were also being held up by a consultant responsible for managing the enrollment and payment system, despite their contract having long expired. The encouraging news is that these funds have been successfully recovered, paving the way for the long-overdue payment to beneficiaries.
Akindele Egbuwalo urged young Nigerians to exercise patience, as the restructuring of the N-Power program is designed to benefit them and to expand the initiative to encompass millions of young people. He assured the public that President Tinubu remains unwavering in his commitment to eradicating poverty, and he will deliver on this promise.

As the Minister and her team work diligently to address irregularities and ensure a fair disbursement of funds, beneficiaries can anticipate long-overdue relief from their financial struggles.
This effort aligns with President Tinubu’s vision to eradicate poverty and create opportunities for young people to thrive in a challenging economic climate. As the N-Power program gets back on track, it promises a brighter future for the nation’s youth, offering renewed hope and financial support to those who need it most.
