As thousands of Nigerians seek access to government employment and empowerment programs, the National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP) has issued an urgent warning about the rising number of fake recruitment portals circulating online. In a recent advisory, NAPEP cautioned applicants to avoid fraudulent websites impersonating its official recruitment platform and misleading the public with false promises of job opportunities.
According to NAPEP, many of these websites are designed to collect sensitive personal information or charge unsuspecting Nigerians illegal processing fees. The agency emphasized that it will never request payment for job applications or training forms under any circumstance.

Fake Recruitment Sites Flooding Social Media
Over the past few weeks, several unofficial websites, including one disguised as napep-gov.ng, have been trending on Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram, falsely advertising active recruitment into NAPEP. These websites often mimic the look and feel of official portals, making it difficult for unsuspecting users to detect the scam.
NAPEP made it clear that such platforms are not affiliated with the federal government and should be ignored. The agency advised the public to stay informed through trusted government communication channels and avoid sharing personal details with unknown platforms.
