The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced that the inaugural flight for the 2023 Hajj from Nigeria to Saudi Arabia will take place on May 25th. This significant event will mark the beginning of the pilgrimage season, with Nigerian pilgrims embarking on this spiritual journey.
During the inauguration of this year’s Hajj Media Team at the Hajj House in Abuja on Thursday, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, Chairman of NAHCON, emphasized the importance of the media in nation building and unity. He highlighted that the media have the power to shape public opinion and urged the members of the Media Team to report responsibly and objectively before, during, and after the Hajj exercise.
To ensure a smooth and successful Hajj pilgrimage, an advanced team of Hajj officials will depart for the Holy Land on Sunday to make necessary preparations for the reception of Nigerian pilgrims. The Commissioners of planning, research and policy management, Shaykh Sulayman Momoh and Alhaji Nura Hassan Yakasai, also stressed the importance of fair and balanced reporting by the media team during the entire period of the Hajj exercise.
