
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued a public alert warning students and the general public to beware of a fraudulent loan portal circulating online, falsely claiming to be endorsed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement released on Monday by the Fund’s Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, NELFUND described the message as false, misleading, and a cyber fraud attempt aimed at deceiving unsuspecting students.
“The attention of NELFUND has been drawn to a fraudulent message currently circulating online, falsely claiming that President Bola Tinubu has directed the reopening of the NELFUND Student Loan portal,” Oluwatuyi stated.
The fraudulent message links to a fake website:

According to NELFUND, this link is entirely fake, and users should not click on it or submit any personal or financial information. The Fund reaffirmed that the only official portal for student loan applications is:
