During an interactive session with media executives in Yola, Zirra emphasized the significance of the census, stating that it plays a vital role in shaping the nation’s future. He highlighted the importance of gathering accurate and up-to-date population data for effective planning and development. This data, he mentioned, serves as the foundation for policy formulation, resource allocation, and the implementation of various social and economic programs.
Zirra expressed the NPC’s satisfaction with the level of accomplishment it has achieved thus far. He also welcomed the decision by the Federal Government to postpone the census to allow the new administration to contribute to the census process. This delay has not only granted the government a chance for input but has also enabled the NPC to refine its processes for conducting the first-ever digital census.
