NPC Urges Nigerians To Do This During the 2023 Census Exercise for Credible Results

The National Population Commission (NPC) has called on Nigerians to participate actively in the forthcoming 2023 census exercise to ensure its credibility and promote national growth and development. The Chairman of the NPC, Nasir Isa Kwarra, emphasized the commission’s readiness to conduct a successful census using the latest technology, while charging journalists to combat misinformation and disinformation during the exercise.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, also stressed the importance of census as a national event that requires the active participation of all Nigerians. He urged citizens to collaborate with the enumerators and provide accurate answers to questions, while assuring them of being addressed in a language they understand.

The 2023 census will be digital and innovative compared to past censuses, according to the Director of Public Affairs of the Commission, Isiaka Yahaya. He further urged Nigerians to respond to questions accurately and not hide disabilities, while also assuring proper enumeration of people who do not stay in regular homes.

The NPC’s call for active participation in the 2023 census exercise is an important step towards achieving credible results that will aid national development. It is, therefore, crucial for all Nigerians to forget about their stereotypes and biases and fully engage in the exercise to ensure accurate and reliable data.
