The notice was issued by the National Association of N-Power Beneficiaries (NANB), which said thousands of beneficiaries across Nigeria have not been paid for several months.

Details of the Protest Notice
In a letter dated 4 February 2026, the association informed the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation of its decision to protest. The letter, referenced NANB/01/VOL I, was addressed to the Honourable Minister in Abuja.
Titled Letter of Protest by the National Association of N-Power Beneficiaries Over Non-Payment of Outstanding Stipends (2024/2025), the document stated that beneficiaries are owed stipends covering eight to twelve months.
Beneficiaries Express Frustration
According to the association, several verification exercises and repeated assurances by government officials have not resulted in any payment.
The letter noted that beneficiaries have complied with all required processes but are still waiting to receive their entitlements. It added that the absence of clear communication, transparency, and a definite payment timeline has seriously weakened trust in the programme.
Protest to Hold Nationwide
The association disclosed that the protest is planned to take place simultaneously in all 36 state capitals, including Abuja.
NANB said the decision was reached after prolonged patience and continuous engagement with relevant authorities failed to produce results.
Letter Signed by National Officers
The protest notice was signed by Bashir Ladan, National General Secretary, on behalf of the National Chairman, Comr. Abdurrahman L. Maitada.
Other national officers listed include:
- Adeshina A. Adex, National Publicity Secretary
- Mr. Jacob Kehinde James, National Admin
- Bashir Ladan, National General Secretary
Letter Copied to Key Institutions
The association confirmed that copies of the letter were circulated nationwide and sent to key institutions, including security agencies, financial bodies, oversight institutions, and the media for awareness and intervention.
Official stamps on the document indicate that it was received by the National Assembly, Federal Labour Congress, and the Department of State Services (DSS) at various offices in January 2026.
Call for Urgent Government Action
In the letter, the association appealed to the Federal Government to act urgently to prevent further hardship among beneficiaries.
“We trust that your esteemed office will treat this matter with the urgency it deserves to prevent further suffering and possible escalation of grievances,” the association stated.
Conclusion
The planned protest highlights growing frustration among N-Power beneficiaries over unpaid stipends. As economic pressures continue to rise, beneficiaries are calling on the Federal Government to fulfil its commitments and restore confidence in the programme.
