Wale Okunniyi, a chieftain of the Labour Party, has expressed optimism that the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will win the election by noon on Saturday. Okunniyi based his prediction on his analysis and the hard work of the party.
According to Okunniyi, the LP’s hard work will pay off, and Obi will win the election by the first ballot. “My analyses give me that optimism and the level of hard work some of us have put in. We will be shocked that by 12 noon, it would be clear that we have won,” he said.

While voting officially ends at 2:30 pm, Okunniyi believes that before then, Obi would have cleared the polls. “By 12 noon, you will know that we have won. It may not be official, but you will know now when there is a trend,” he said.
Okunniyi also emphasized the importance of electoral trends, stating that if one is in a polling unit, they could tell if the trend is in their favor. “If you are in a polling unit, for instance, and you see the trend, and you have canvassers, information would have gotten to you,” he maintained.
While Okunniyi’s prediction may be a cause for optimism among LP supporters, it’s essential to note that electoral outcomes are not guaranteed. Election results are not official until they are announced by the electoral commission, and trends can shift rapidly, making initial results unreliable.
The outcome of the election will depend on several factors, including voter turnout, the performance of candidates in debates and campaign rallies, and the overall political climate in the country. It’s essential to wait for the official results before drawing any conclusions about the winner of the election.
In conclusion, while Okunniyi’s prediction may be a cause for optimism among LP supporters, it’s important to exercise caution and wait for the official results before making any conclusions. The Nigerian presidential election is a crucial event that will impact the future of the country, and it’s important to ensure that the process is free and fair.
