The 5th MYCM, which aligns with the AU’s theme for 2023, “Acceleration of African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Implementation,” aims to foster deeper collaboration among the AU member states, the Regional Economic Communities (RECs), and the Regional Mechanisms (RMs). This meeting serves as a platform for heads of state, government officials, and high-level dignitaries to discuss and evaluate progress made in advancing the AfCFTA agenda.

President Tinubu’s participation in the event demonstrates Nigeria’s dedication to promoting economic growth, peace, security, and stability in the region. As the Chairperson of ECOWAS, he will present a comprehensive report on the status of regional integration within ECOWAS.
